CURRENT AHA CPR GUIDELINES

American First Aid & CPR

In 2015 the American Heart Association implemented new guidelines for performing CPR. Every 5 years AHA evaluates science from many sources and updates standards as needed.  The next anticipated update to guidelines will be released October, 2020

Expected changes from AHA range from the studies on 10 years of hands-only CPR with a track record on respiratory effectiveness, a modernization in Defibrillator features and uses, studies on defibrillation at younger ages, and a general reevaluation of all practices.

These guidelines increase the survival rate for victims suffering from cardiac arrest.

The current guidelines are required to be in compliance with the Department of Labor and Industries, OSHA and WISHA for all businesses and Healthcare Facilities.  American First Aid and CPR is committed to keeping you up to date.
